COMMUNITY USE

COMMUNITY USE

The bowling green and Clubhouse belong to Barnet Council. We believe that they are  community assets and so we welcome other organisations and groups who wish to use our facilities. Our aim is to become a “community hub”, where our facilities are used by a wide range of people.

Junior Park Run

The Friary Park  Junior Park Run uses the clubhouse as a base for runs almost every Sunday morning.

 Schools

For the  2 years before Covid  we  hosted groups  of students and staff from local schools in May- June, providing free tuition and an introduction to lawn bowling as a sport. In 2018 we welcomed the Wren Academy and in 2019 the Totteridge Academy . For these sessions we use “junior bowls”, purchased with a grant from Barnet Council.

 Others

Our neighbours, Community Focus, a charity and arts centre based in Friary House (also in Friary Park) use our Clubhouse for training sessions.

Friern Barnet & Whetstone Residents’ Association hold their annual “Summer Splash” party at the Clubhouse. Note: for FBWRA members only.
